The production of Star Trek Beyond has moved to Dubai, and into some areas that are wide open to the public. As is often the case when a blockbuster of this size visits a major city, a ton of videos and photos from the set have found their way online.

In the collection below, you’ll see everything from Chris Pine filming a scene where Captain Kirk meets with a Starfleet official, to aliens and humans milling around a crowded plaza together, and even the fallout of some sort of destructive incident that takes place.

Star Trek Beyond is being directed by the man who rejuvenated the Fast & Furious franchise that most had thought was dead after the first sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious: Justin Lin. Interestingly enough, he seems to be climbing aboard the Enterprise at the same sort of moment as he got behind the wheel of F&F. This current, rebooted Star Trek film series started off hot, then hit a bump when its sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, came out and polarized fans. Once again, he’s coming on for the third film in a series that needs to be put back on course. Let’s see if Lin can do it again.
