The latest Marvel Barside Buzz says that Shang-Chi 2 films next year, Feige overpowers Sony and Shawn Levy will be welcomed back. The leaks come from Daniel RPK on his Patreon. We shall start with the Shang-Chi sequel. RPK says he’s heard that Shang-Chi 2 will begin production next year. He also says the movie will feature time travel and perhaps Iron Fist.
We already know Destin Daniel Cretton will be back to helm the sequel. Also given that Shang-Chi was a popular and successful movie it seems unlikely a sequel would get shelved.
Second up we have the ongoing battle between Kevin Feige and Sony over Spider-Man 4. According to RPK previously, Sony wanted to go Multiversal and get Jon Watts back. Feige wanted to go street level and get a new director. Well for what it’s worth RPK now says Feige won that battle with Sony. If this is a true, we should hear about a new director being announced before production begins on this sequel.
I much prefer the idea of street level with a new director. I had no issues with Watt’s three movies, don’t get me wrong. It’s just that we are moving into adult Peter now and as such I think a different tone would be appreciated.

Lastly from RPK he says that Shawn Levy is expected to get more Marvel projects after I assume the studio is very happy with Deadpool and Wolverine. Of course, don’t bet on that till the box office numbers come in. This is news we’ve heard before from behind the scenes and yet flops have derailed those plans.
What I will say is that unless it’s an awful movie, I expect Deadpool and Wolverine to do very well at the box office. It just has elements that will pull audiences into theatres. Those elements are namely Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their roles. Additionally that they actually getting to appear together for the first time since that horrible Deadpool from Origins.
