Shang-Chi Sequel – Kevin Feige Has Ideas For The Future

Lead star Simu Liu says Shang-Chi 2 is still definitely happening despite there being no place for it on MCU slate.

Today we share some comments from Kevin Feige about where Shang-Chi could go next and whether there would be a Shang-Chi sequel? Feige recently spoke with ComicBook.com and was asked

“I’m always confident and nervous in equal proportions. The early reactions to the characters and to [Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings] itself gives me great hope that that people will want to see more of these characters,” Feige says. “We certainly have many ideas of where to take them and where to put them. And as exactly as you say, what’s so fun, we know the movie’s working when it’s not just the title character that people ask about, but it is the co-stars or the supporting players that people ask about. And in this movie in particular, that’s heartening because we think they’re spectacular, and we think they have great potential in the future.”

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Deston Daniel Cretton also hinted towards a sequel. Asked if there were any scenes/ideas he could not fit in the movie, or deleted scenes?

“There was one setting that we were not able to do, but I won’t say what it is. Because I really hope that we get to do it again in another film.”

Could that mean Cretton is considering directing that sequel for Marvel Studios? Who knows, but if Shang-Chi is a hit, I’ll bet Marvel will try to set that up in a contract soon. Shang-Chi and other characters from the movie will no doubt appear in other Marvel films. This is the MCU after all! Though, I’d say the chances of a Shang-Chi sequel were extremely high even without these comments from Kevin Feige.

Do you hope there is a Shang-Chi sequel or would you rather wait to see Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings first before commenting? Any thoughts you have, please leave them below.
