Star Simu Liu teases Shang-Chi unique action in a recent interview. Fans have gotten their first glimpse at Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, however you feel there’s more under the hood. Now Simu Liu has hyped up the movie by saying there are action scenes that fans “have never seen before”.
Liu recently chatted with E Online and had this to say about what fans can expect from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
“I promise that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is going to deliver action sequences in a way that MCU fans, or any fans, have never seen before, and that is personal promise,” he says. “You can stamp it, you can quote it, you can guarantee it. You guys are in for a treat, for sure. And I’m so excited.”
Now that could just be bluster. After all, each Marvel star would probably tell us how amazing the movie was they appeared in. This is always going to be part and parcel of marketing a movie. Still, those are some bold claims. and yet perhaps not too much of an exaggeration? Combat in the MCU has always been superhero based, duh! None of the fighting choreography thus used in the MCU makes me think ‘Kung-Fu’. The closest we had was perhaps Iron Fist in the now non-canon Netflix shows, and that wasn’t great at all.

I’m hoping we get some really over the top and spectacular fights. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a good Kung-Fu movie. If Shang-Chi can be a great Kung-Fu movie, and a great superhero movie all tied into one, it could be epic. For now though, we shall have wait till September to see if Liu’s claims of Shang-Chi unique action scenes plays out with the fans.
