Bruce Lee’s daughter, Shannon, has fired back at Quentin Tarantino after he spoke about his portrayal of her father in his latest film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. She was not happy with the way her father was shown in the film, cocky and arrogant.
After she expressed her feelings Tarantino spoke on how he believes his depiction of Lee had some truth to it. Now Shannon Lee has come forth again to call Tarantino out once again, this time while speaking to Variety. You can check out what she had to say below.
“He could shut up about it. That would be really nice. Or he could apologize or he could say, ‘I don’t really know what Bruce Lee was like. I just wrote it for my movie. But that shouldn’t be taken as how he really was.’”
“One of the things that’s troubling in his response is that, on the one hand, he wants to put this forward as fact and, on the other hand, he wants to stay in fiction.
I ennoyed the film but, at least initially, thought that’s Bruce Lee’s portrayal was a bit over the top, and now I’m not really sure what to think. Both sides seem sure the other is wrong about the legendary martial artist. Tarantino took his insriration for the portrayal from Linda Lee Caldwell’s book, but the quote was’t taken from her, but from a suppsed critic of Bruce Lee.
