According to Matthew Belloni of Puck News She-Hulk is a mess. Now weirdly that’s not the first time this claim has been made. Insider Jeff Sneider of The Ankler previously made this claim and it was apparently debunked by many other Marvel insiders. However former THR editor and founder of Puck News Belloni now says the same thing in his recent article. Belloni’s article was an analysis of Bob Chapek and what he is doing with the Disney+ service. When talk turned to Marvel Studios output, here is what Belloni said.
“So Moon Knight generated about half the initial viewership as Hawkeye, and many fans seem to dislike it intensely. I recently discussed the question of whether Marvel has a creative problem on my podcast, but even from a purely business perspective, Marvel needs to figure out how to generate Avenger-level interest from non-Avenger properties.”
“The upcoming She-Hulk is supposedly a mess, I’ve heard (even with Mark Ruffalo in a small role), and Ms. Marvel is another big test for fans. Nobody’s saying Marvel’s TV output is in trouble, but it’s something to keep an eye on.”

I find it interesting that Belloni claims that many fans seem to dislike Moon Knight intensely. I am genuinely not sure where Belloni is hanging out talking to other fans? In the places I hang about talking to Marvel fans, the majority really loved it. That’s the same within LRM Towers. I think to a person, all the staff here really enjoyed Moon Knight. Plus my own friends all seemed to rate Moon Knight higher than many other shows, including Hawkeye. However if there are viewing figures, and those are lower, then I can’t argue against that. I have obviously not seen these figures though, and I think I’d need to see it before just believing what someone who claims to now says.
As for She-Hulk? Well, this is a show I’ve been worried about since it was announced. I’m not a fan of the character and it’s not where I necessarily want to see Hulk going. However, I have not seen it (duh!)and will give the show a fair crack at the whip when it hits. Given the related link above, that could be as early as August this year.
