She-Hulk Series May FINALLY Give Fan-Favorite Character Debut They Deserve

The Hulk has always been my favorite Marvel character and while it took the franchise some time to get him right, they have finally done him some justice with the Avengers films and Thor: Ragnarok (although I didn’t completely hate the other films…yes, I am sure I will get some hate for that). The one part I always felt fans missed out on was seeing a massive showdown with another spectacularly imposing figure as well as the character I feel is Hulk’s best adversary…but can he be debuted in, of all places, the live-action She-Hulk series?

Red Hulk Debuts

Although it may not be in the way some thought we would see the character, it appears that we will finally get the debut of Red Hulk (and it’s about time) in the Disney+ series, She-Hulk! I was already pretty excited for the series, but definitely count me in now! Back in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, William Hurt played the role of General Ross.  He reprises the role in  2016’s Captain America: Civil War as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He is also expected to make a cameo in the upcoming Black Widow film and many assume he will be seen in The Falcon & The Winter Solider, so it’s about damn time the man gets to transform into his Red Hulk counterpart!

Comic Book Counterpart

Red Hulk’s debut isn’t out of left field if you are a fan of the comics. The character cemented himself as a worthy opponent as he killed Abomination at one point. It was also revealed that he was created by MODOK (which makes many feel that he could make an appearance in the Disney+ series as well) who was the leader of a group called A.I.M. (no, not AOL Instant Messenger…pretty sure I dated myself there…). She-Hulk and Hulk invade A.I.M. in order to defeat MODOK but are blindsided by Red Hulk! Eventually Ross’ alter ego forms the Thunderbolts, which is an area I hope they explore down the road. He is even known for being a part of the Avengers at times, but I really want to see him as a badass antagonist for a good amount of time.

Deserved Debut

Marvel is making new moves again by bringing the film world and merging it with the TV streaming world as our own Jammer mentioned earlier today. I think it is a great idea, and I am looking forward to seeing how it all pans out. Anytime I saw General Ross in a previous film I always wondered what it be like, or when they would get around to giving the man his transformation, and let’s be real, William Hurt has portrayed the character for some time now and clearly deserves a chance to Hulk-out!  Also, Marvel haven’t always had the best villains on screen, but they have had some characters waiting in the wings and we are finally about to get nemesis we deserve!
