Well, this is random…

It’s not at all uncommon for fans to try to make their voices be heard when they want a particular bit of casting to happen. Lord knows, we all hear them loud and clear when they hate a casting choice, but the results of petitions/movements for a particular casting, don’t usually have an impact on the process. With very few exceptions, fan campaigns don’t tend to work, but that doesn’t stop this one from being any less interesting.

In a new petition, there are fans trying to get Warner Bros and Ben Affleck to consider none other than Shia LaBeouf for the role of Jason Todd/Red Hood in The Batman– or the DCEU, at large. 

Here’s there list of demands…err…reasons:

• “Shia LaBeouf is willing to go the distance to be the best that his character can be in recent films”

• “Its a opportunity for him to show the world what an amazing actor he can truly be if you Just give him a chance to Be this character
  help him get from one of the most looked down upon actors in Hollywood to one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood because of this role”

• “Ben affleck was hated by so many people because he was cast as batman and now he is loved by many after they say what an amazing performance Ben affleck could do as batman”

• “Shia labeouf is truly one of the most talented actors in Hollywood if you seen his recent films”

• “If you know the character Jason Todd aka red hood And if you know Shia labeouf the then u can see how similar they are in and how perfect this casting choice is for Shia labeouf”

As you can tell, the writer of the petition is very well-spoken and eloquent, which probably explains a lot.

I first heard about this over the weekend when a buddy of mine posted about it online, but now that it’s still being spoken of, I figured I’d share it with you. Do you think that LaBeouf deserves the role of Todd in The Batman? 

Personally, I actually think he could pull it off, but I just can’t see it happening.

Mind you, there’s been no confirmation that Todd/Red Hood are even in the script for The Batman. This whole thing is so out of left field that I kind of love the randomness of it.
