Normally, a movie like Show Dogs is not the type of movie we write about here at LRM, but this one is worth it. And I’m not just writing it because Will Arnett is my favorite comedic actor. This is interesting.
Deadline reports that Global Road is re-cutting its family film Show Dogs, starring Will Arnett as the “human one,” after mommy bloggers and groups including the Nation Center on Sexual Exploitation were not amused by a subplot that involves the lead undercover police dog Max (Ludaris). While being inspected at a dog show, he becomes uncomfortable with strangers touching his genitals.
So, don’t worry, P.C. Principal, the new cut of the film will be available in theaters by the weekend. So if you want to check out the “sensation” that is pissing off the “nation,” go see Show Dogs today!
Global Road Entertainment gave Deadline the following statement:
“Responding to concerns raised by moviegoers and some specific organizations, Global Road Entertainment has decided to remove two scenes from the film Show Dogs that some have deemed not appropriate for children. The company takes these matters very seriously and remains committed to providing quality entertainment for the intended audiences based on the film’s rating. We apologize to anybody who feels the original version of Show Dogs sent an inappropriate message. The revised version of the film will be available for viewing nationwide starting this weekend.”
Good work, guys! I mean, that sort of joke shouldn’t have been in a PG movie in the first place, right?
