According to the latest Star Wars Barside Buzz, Skeleton Crew won’t release till holiday season 2024. We actually at one point expected this Disney+ show to release by this years holiday season, or at the very least early 2024. However both Bespin Bulletin and MSW have heard from sources that holiday Season 2024 seems currently the most likely drop window.
Here is a transcript of what MSW had to say on their YouTube video linked above.
“Yeah, it’s not what I want and what Bespin Bulletin has heard and what I have now heard from two separated sources is it would be out like after Halloween. Today I spoke to somebody that said that they, this is a Lucasfilm person, expect it to be Holiday 2024. Christmas season. When I hear holiday season, I expect between Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
Skeleton Crew was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford. The pair previously worked together on the Spider-Man MCU movies. The show is set in the same timeline as the rest of the MandoVerse shows. Therefore, Skeleton Crew is produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. How Skeleton Crew connects to either The Mandalorian or Ahsoka remains to be seen. One connection we know of is the pirate from The Mandalorian Season 3 is showing up. Outside of that who can say for certain?

If you read LRM regularly you know I’m all about delays if a product needs more time to be shaped into something good. That remains so here, but at the same time I can’t help but be not excited for Skeleton Crew. Nothing I have heard about this show excites me and recent Star Wars products have been very hit and miss. I’m feeling like Skeleton Crew will be more Ahsoka/Boba Fett than Andor or early Mando Seasons. I have no evidence for that, just saying how I feel at this point. I’ll watch Skeleton Crew when it drops. I may even review it, and I hope I’m pleasantly surprised. I just don’t anticipate it being good, but I said the same abut Andor, so that proves don’t judge till you watch.
