I can hardly believe it myself. After cycling through showrunners, pilot directors, and networks, we’re finally going to be getting a Snowpiercer TV series. That’s right. Remember that Bong Joon Ho movie that came out a million years ago (and by that I mean seven years ago)? For the past four years or so, a series based on the graphic novel and film has been in the works, and hell, as long ago as about two years, I had spoken with Jennifer Connelly on its progress, and they had only just finished up one of the pilots that was set to be replaced.

So, I was pretty much convinced this would go the way of The Crow, and ultimately never see the light of day. Well, luckily, I am completely wrong on that front. This series is officially hitting TNT, and has a premiere date of Sunday, May 31 at 9PM ET/ET

This series is set to be a reboot of the story that took place in the film, which starred Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton. I honestly have no idea how they plan to stretch it out over the course of a series, but I guess they’ll be spending a lot more time in the different compartments or something.

Interestingly enough, THR themselves believe this show makes the most sense on HBO Max and think the powers that be will realize this over the course of the next few months. Perhaps they’ll make it a deal where it premieres on TNT and then pops up on HBO Max 24 hours after.
