New plot details for Disney’s second Anthology film, Solo: A Star Wars Story have emerged from Empire. Insider information obtained by the magazine has shed light on where the film may be heading, as far as the mythology surrounding the character including how he met Chewbacca.
Here’s what Empire had to say (via ComicBook.com):
“It’s part of Solo lore that, as a young gifted pilot, he studied at the Imperial Academy. Solo is kicked out of the Academy for rescuing Chewbacca from an Imperial Officer, and thus one of cinema’s great friendships was formed. Some variation on this is likely in Solo.”

It is well known throughout the Star Wars fandom that Chewbacca owed a life debt to Han Solo, and it would be wise for Disney to include this in some shape or form, and from what we learned today, it sounds as if they are making the right move here.
That’s not all. We also received a brand-new (leaked) piece of artwork for the film (via Reddit). Check it out below:
In my opinion, the first anthology film, Rogue One, is the best Star Wars film that Disney has produced, and even with the massive reshoots and production problems, I have high hopes for backstory of everyone’s favorite smuggler.
Hopefully we will get a teaser trailer very soon!
