Solo Star Emilia Clarke Says Game Of Thrones Creators Will Bring Star Wars On Acid

For some time now we have known that when Game of Thrones ends,  show-runners D & D otherwise known as David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will  turn their attention to Star Wars.

We know very little about exactly just what kind of Star Wars we will get with D & D at the helm. Kathleen Kennedy said they will “break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.” Bob Iger CEO of Disney said “they’re focused on a point in time in the Star Wars mythology.”

If I had to guess, and I will, I’d say D&D might get to play around in the era of The Knights of the Old Republic, though I’mprobably reading a little too much into Iger’s comments.

Who better to judge how these two will fare in the Star Wars universe than actress Emilia Clarke, star of both Game of Thrones and Solo: A Star Wars Story out this week. You can catch Nick’s review of the movie in the related link above.

Here is what Clarke said when asked in an interview with Variety

“What they brought to fantasy as a genre that people are like, appreciating on a much grander scale. Putting all that creativity and all of that skill and intellect into something that already has so much. I think it’s just gonna be like Star Wars on acid. I think it will be amazing, I can’t wait.”

As a huge fan of Game of Thrones I am more excited to see what D&D cook up with Star Wars than I am anything else out there on the horizon. At the same time I appreciate that a massive amount of credit for Game of Thrones success has to fall to author George RR Martin. Many Game of Thrones fans are very critical of how the show has strayed from the books, I am not one of them however. I live in hope that they can deliver something very special with Star Wars, but first they have to finish Season 8 of Game of Thrones.
