Sonic The Hedgehog Gets Talked Up By Pro Athletes In Super Bowl Spot

“Sonic the Hedgehog. He can really move. He’s the fastest thing alive.” Those are the immortal lyrics to the ‘90s animated series Sonic the Hedgehog. I literally feel like I’m the only one who remembers that thing, but I have very vivid memories watching that show as a kid after it premiered on the series Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. But I digress. The point is, Sonic is fast as hell.

It makes sense that the Super Bowl TV spot would also relate to his own athleticism. And that’s exactly what happens, with athletes like Michael Thomas, Christian McCaffrey, and Allyson Felix shower the Blue Blur with praise. Take a look at the spot down below!

After the athlete portion, we’re are left with a few quick shots — including one where Sonic spins into a ball and charges at Robotnik’s machine, which is very reminiscent of the video game. And Jim Carrey himself is prominently featured in a gag at the end, which I found amusing.

What do you think of the new spot? Does it get you any more excited for the film? Let us know your thoughts down below!
