Sonic The Hedgehog: Sonic Can’t Swim In New Clip

While I’m still not sure how I feel about this whole…Sonic the Hedgehog thing, I think it’s fair to say the filmmakers have a definite love of the franchise. Director Jeff Fowler actually went back to the drawing board and had Sonic redesigned from the ground-up. Will this make the movie any better? No, not really. But it does seem to show how much the filmmakers care about what they’re making.

Now, the studio has released a new clip from film, which seems to have a nice hat-tip to the game. Gamers will know that the Blue Blur has a bad history with water. Fall into it, and you’ll pretty much die. And based on the new clip, it looks like this is a problem Sonic is very much aware of.

It’s a very straightforward scene and shows our hero finally admitting that he has to ally himself with James Marsden’s character in order to succeed in whatever journey he has to. It goes without saying that this journey likely has a lot to do with Doctor Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey.

It’s charming, it’s predictable, but I can’t say I hate it. I definitely feel some familiar buddy cop movie shades here, and that’s likely not by accident. What do you think of this new clip? Does it give you any more faith? Let us know down below!
