After a huge backlash to the character’s appearance in the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog, the people behidn the film have listened to the fans and redesigned the character, one of the biggest issues fans had, was the human-like teeth the character donned.

While not confirmed to be fixed, one would assume the teeth have been changed seeing as how they were one of the biggest complaints. Producer Tim Miller recently spoke with Variety and talked about the redesign, you can check out what he had to say below.

“Look, I was with fans and so was Jeff. When the s–t hit the fan, I went over there and said, ‘The most important thing to do, man, is say, ‘I f–ked up.’ He’d already sent a tweet out an hour before I got there. He’s a good man. It was exactly the right way to handle that. The fans have a voice in this too. There’s a right way to listen.”

A bit more form Miller:

“I think the fans will be pleased.”

I was always a Mario kid, I enjoyed Sonic when I went to friends’ houses. Even though not being a huge fan of the character I can understand the backlash to the character’s original design. As a result of the redesign the film’s release date was pushed to February 2020 from an original release date of November 2019.

Hopefully we’ll all get a look at the new Sonic soon.
