This final scene from Spider-Man: Homecoming set up a very interesting plot point for the future Spidey films, Aunt May knows. In the comics, the character has known, not known, thought she knew, had her memories wiped, and so much more but generally, Spidey keeps it a secret from her. Having May know in this upcoming film could really change things for Peter and the things he does as Spider-Man. If May sees him saving a family from a fire on the news that may be no big deal as she understands his abilities, but if another spaceship comes to NYC and he goes after it, she’ll be freaked! This is exactly how Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) described things to /Film:
“It’s an interesting question. Obviously bigger things in the MCU have happened that we need to talk about, so when we find May for the first time, she’s kind of egging Peter on. There’s a very funny line where she’s talking about, “I hope you’ve taken down” some crime family. She’s in on it, and she kind of understands his power and understands that he’s safe most of the time. When he’s being a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, little harm can come to him. But when he takes on bigger foes, I think she is just as worried as she was in the first one.”

The first teaser trailer showed us May at some charity event actually introducing her nephew as the web-head and being a big part of his life. Even insisting that Peter take his Spidey suit with him to Europe. However, none of the scenes on the trip seem to involve her and that makes me wonder how big her role really is.
