While the promotional trail is currently focussed on Avengers: Endgame for Marvel, we can’t forget that next up after the epic Endgame is Spider-Man: Far From Home. Far From Home will be the second Spider-Man movie made by Marvel studios and part of the MCU.
Sony still own the rights to Spider-Man movies, but we should all know by now they agreed to let Marvel use the character in their own team up movies if Marvel made Spider-Man movies for them set in the MCU.
Today we have a first look at a brand new poster for the movie. It is doubtful that Marvel or Sony planned to release this quite so soon given that it has only appeared on Reddit so far. But I’d expect now that the cat is out the bag, Marvel or Sony will be officially revealing this in better quality very soon. Check it out courtesy of Reddit user Uncle11Drew.
As you can see the poster showcases the fact that Spider-Man is very far from home in this movie. In case you are not familiar with the scenery, Spider-Man is in London here. That’s the Houses of Parliament you can see below left and the unmistakable Big Ben. It looks like Spidey is atop the London Eye, a giant Ferris-wheel that allows customers to take in the views of the city.
Far as I can tell there are no other little details to spot in this poster, but I do very much like it. My only criticism (not really) is that the weather look far too good to be set in the UK, but I guess last year was a great summer when they were filming.
But that wasn’t all. Here are a couple more posters.
I have always liked my Spider-Man adventures set firmly in the Big Apple itself, so we will see how it works for Spider-Man to be in some other famous cities. As you can see from the image London doesn’t exactly have that towering Manhattan skyline, but then where else does? I always thought Spider-Man was so strong on his home turf because his powers were well suited to zipping between gigantic skyscrapers.
