The Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel is getting delayed, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 gets slated.

Okay, so first off, you can all relax. The delay for Spider-Man: Far From Home 2 — or the third MCU Spidey film — isn’t crazy. In fact, according to Variety, it will roughly be a month or so. Previously, the flick was set to hit on November 5, 2021. Now, it will swing into theaters on December 17, 2021. This announcement comes a day after Disney shook up their slate by delaying Star Wars and the Avatar films.

Of course, the Spider-Man film was originally set to hit on July 16, 2021, before COVID-19 reared its ugly head. And this change makes a lot of sense, as the film will need to hit production around the end of the year or beginning of next to hit that date. Considering how unpredictable the pandemic has been, that’s still a pretty tight and ambitious date.

In better news, we set out sights on the Blue Blur himself, Sonic the Hedgehog. He had his first live-action feature film hit earlier this year, and while it wasn’t amazing…it wasn’t half bad either. On the whole, it resonated with audiences and did fairly well at the box office.

Now, according to IGN, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will hit theaters on April 8, 2022. Considering this was a movie that, upon releasing its first teaser, was nothing but a punchline, this is pretty amazing. Through sheer earnestness, it managed to win over many jaded viewers, present company included. Again, it wasn’t amazing, but in rough times, you can do much worse to lift your spirits than that first Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
