The Marvel box office domination continues! As of Thursday afternoon, Spider-Man: From From Home will cross the $1 billion worldwide mark. This marks the first time ever that a Spider-Man film has crossed that milestone. It is already the biggest movie of the entire franchise (Spider-Man, not Marvel in general).
News had been circulating that had the film not crossed the $1 billion mark, Sony would cut off their joint partnership with Marvel Studios over the character. The numbers for the film are expected to hit $333 million domestically and $672 million internationally by the end of the day. That would put the film at $1.005 billion. So, it looks like Spidey will be hanging out in the MCU quite a bit longer, thankfully.

Picking up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home continues to follow Peter Parker as he attempts to move on without Tony Stark and become the hero he is supposed to be. It was expected for the film to garner a high box office take initially (being the first post-Endgame Marvel film), but combined with high critical praise, the film is running now on its own. Here’s to more Parker in the future of the MCU!
Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jake Gyllenhaul, Samuel L. Jackson, Marisa Tomei, and Jon Favreau. The film was directed by Jon Watts, who also wrote and directed Spider-Man: Homecoming. Far From Home was written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna.
