With all the talk and hype for Friday’s Avengers: Infinity War, it is easy to forget about the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel that is in the works. It appears as if Spider-Man may be taking his web-slinging talents overseas in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige more or less confirmed this in speaking with io9:

“We start filming early July. We film in London. We shot first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there’s another reason we’re shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he’ll spend some time in other parts of the globe.”

Feige continued:

“The way Civil War and the fact that he went to Leipzig Airport and then has to go back to school, informed Homecoming, the two Avengers films that precede [the sequel] will greatly inform, probably even more so, the next movie.”

Feige is obviously pointing to a connection between the upcoming Avengers films and the Homecoming sequel. I am curious to know the set up for Spider-Man’s travels and surely we will know more about where and why Spider-Man is heading across the pond after watching Infinity War, but we’ll have to wait and see what other parts of the globe Feige is referring to. The idea of Spidey swinging on and around famous structures is interesting, to say the least.
