Right now, news regarding Disney acquiring 21st Century Fox is reverberating throughout the industry. In one fell swoop, the House of Mouse has made bold steps to acquiring a huge chunk of the film industry, and it’s a move that will have effects for years to come.

We’ve heard countless industry folks give their two cents and reactions to this news, but one man has yet to say anything, until now. Speaking with Newsarama, Stan Lee — the creator of countless superhero icons — gave his own reaction to the news of Disney acquiring Fox.

Here’s what he had to say:

“A truly great piece of news! Now characters such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four can come home to the place where they belong. It’s vitally important to have the Marvel characters under one roof. And now, as great as they were before, I can’t wait to see the wonders that will unfold!”

Of course, for a man like Lee, an acquisition like this is the stuff of dreams. After seeing his creations separated for as long as he has, seeing them be able to join together in one mondo universe would be a sight to see.

The current status of the Fox Marvel properties is unknown. While Disney CEO Bob Iger did state outright earlier that they would be merged into the MCU, Kevin Feige ultimately has the say as to whether or not it’s worth doing right away.

Hard to be cynical when you’re talking about Stan Lee, lets look at a photo of him during the 70s

Man, I don’t want to jinx him but you, uh, kinda hope Stan will be around to see the merging of X-Men and the MCU. And of course, his role to play in that.

Great, you just murdered our beloved Stan Lee. Thanks a lot. He will be courting death soon enough. F*ck! lol

Yeah but will he get farther than Thanos?

      • Lenin1959

He couldn’t kill Stan Lee. Thanos could not kill Stan Lee.

Only Chuck Norris could but he is his bro and would never do it.

I know someone who would want to see that jinx happen, his name is Steve Dikto and he’s still alive. Because of the bad comic deals he’s gone into hiding and became Alan Moore’s role model.

Just send all the Fantastic Four abortions into a vault. Start of with a straight up Dr. Doom film. Fold his ass into the MCU first, then bring in the definitive Fantastic Four film to counter balance his effect on the MCU. Let the X-Men films fall off after this next movie, then let X-Force and Deadpool have their time in the sun. Slowly start bringing in characters in the other MCU movies, like what was done with the Avengers. With each movie post credits you get a new original core team X-man.
