Stanley Tong has a long working relationship with kung-fu action star Jackie Chan.

Thanks to Tong’s Rumble in the Bronx in 1999, American audiences were captivated with the star from the East. That film catapulted Chan into stardom in the States, in which Chan starred in more action films, including the American franchise of Rush Hour with Chris Tucker.

The new action film, Vanguard, marked the sixth collaboration between the action star and the famed director.

The film introduces a new generation of action stars with Jackie Chan headlines as a leader of a private security organization intending to spoil the plans of a worldwide terrorist organization.

It stars Jackie Chan, Yang Yang, Ai Lun, Mu Qimiya, Xu Ruohan, and Zhu Zhengting.

Here’s the official synopsis of the film:

In the movie, Vanguard, a covert security company is the last hope of survival for an accountant after he is targeted by the world’s deadliest mercenary organization. Chan plays the CEO of the firm, where he leads a squad of elite agents to save the businessman. The globe-trotting action-adventure was filmed in nine cities across the United Kingdom, China, the United Arab Emirates, Zambia, and India.
