Star Teases Surprise Appearances In Agents Of SHIELD Final Season

Tomorrow evening sees the debut of the Agents of SHIELD final season on ABC. The previous season of AoS saw the team stranded in the 1930’s and looking for a way home. Unfortunately for me, I am one season back on AoS currently. I have only been able to keep up with the show on Disney+ which still does not feature the most recent season.

Agents of SHIELD is a show I enjoy most of the time, though it definitely works best in small doses. Weirdly AoS is the kind of show I have no time left for. It’s an old fashioned network type show, with low budget and character plot armor that could stand up to Thanos. Maybe it’s the fact AoS is in the MCU, or maybe it’s the fact I like some of the characters? But, I kinda still enjoy the show, most of the time anyway.

Daisy, aka Skye, aka Quake actress Chloe Bennet recently spoke to TVLine about the final season. Bennet was asked about her favorite storylines for this finale. Her answer hinted towards some surprise appearances for the show.

“I think the writers do a really good job of balancing out and giving everyone a satisfying ending, for the character, for the actor and, No. 1 obviously, for the fans. There are a few people that I think fans are going to be really excited to see.”

The outlet then clarified if Bennet was talking about Patton Oswalt and Enver Gjokaj, both confirmed to appear in the final season. Bennet was asked whether there may be more surprise additions beyond these two?

“Definitely. it’s a really rewarding season for the fans. It’s a love letter to them, really.”

Agents of SHIELD final season

Who knows what characters could be making an appearance? If the gang are jumping through time, they could realistically run into a lot of people. What about Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter, or Howard Stark? Though, I’m guessing one of them will be Grant Ward. Ward has been dead for years on the show and he always somehow managed to make a cameo appearance every now and then.

No doubt I’ll catch up with AoS once it appears on Disney+, as I hate watching normal commercialized TV. Let’s hope the writers can really end the Season on a high, and finish the story of these characters well. However, I can’t say I’ll particularly miss Agents of SHIELD. It can be fun at times, like I said above, but there are no stakes, or rarely. In some ways this group just exist in their own world and don’t really seem connected to the MCU as a whole anymore. I am far, far more excited to see the TV side of the MCU evolve on Disney+.

What do you think of Bennet’s comments. Are you going to be tuning in to the Agents of SHIELD final season? Leave your thoughts below in the usual spot.
