Star Trek 4: Simon Pegg Gives Update On Film’s Progress

Star Trek 4 is happening, folks. It may have taken a hot minute to gain some momentum, but on the heels of Tarantino expressing interest on telling a whole new story, things seem to have picked up on the original idea for the Chris Hemsworth-centered narrative. As of this writing, it looks like they’re going forward with this story before the Tarantino-developed one, but how far long are they?

During a press junket for the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Pegg was asked about the progress of the film, and he was more than happy to give an update:

“As far as I know, we are pushing ahead. We are in prep, I think, for it, but then there’s so much to do before we start shooting, like making sure everybody is available.”

Obviously, scheduling is quite the big deal in a film production, and given how in-demand the actors are, it’ll be quite the task to coordinate everything. That being said, this is all great news for those who are hoping to see the journey of the Enterprise continue in film form. Following the box-office disappointment of Star Trek Beyond, it’s nice to see some momentum.
