Star Wars: Battlefront II is a strange game, it began its life being slated by what felt like everyone due to the monetization and accusations of gambling. However, after this feedback, the game has turned around big time. Battlefront II gives all it’s updates/new content for free. Even though I have not played the game recently, I have all the current updates. I could jump in with my son and play it as the mood takes, which is cool.
One such update, my son was looking forward to was one due this week. The game will finally allow players to control the droid BB-8 along with his First Order equivalent BB-9E. Alas, fans are going to have to wait a little longer for this one. They have discovered a bug with would make some players unable to deal damage in the Capital Supremacy mode. Walke also gave a bit more to fans, and explained how this is the nature of the video games business at times.
“Unfortunately, this is sometimes the reality in game development where testing continues right up until an update is deployed onto our live servers. Although disappointing, we feel that it is much better that we found the issue now, rather than have it slip through and make it to our live servers.”
Yes, if they had released this, the rabid fan base would be asking why this game-breaking bug was not picked up in testing. Better to wait than for a new update to break the game and make it unplayable for some players.

Will BB-8 be a fun character to play with? Of that I am unsure, I guess we will find out in around a week’s time. I personally just wish they would update the Starfighter mode a little more. The mode focussed on space battles has remained largely untouched since release.
