Two new Star Wars shows were announced for Disney+ in the May listings. Star Wars Biomes and Star Wars Vehicle Flythroughs. Although officially listed as coming to Disney+ in May, there were no further details about what these shows actually are. Until today, today we have a description for each show which you can read below. I’m not sure about you other Star Wars fans, but I have to say, if done well, this could be a pretty fun thing to watch/use.
I saw watch/use, because I get the feeling there will be a small level of interactivity within these shows on Disney+. Possibly allowing you to spend longer than the show is designed for exploring if you want to. I don’t know that for certain, it could be ‘on-rails’ completely, though I think that might limit it’s re-watchability factor if so. Check out the descriptions below courtesy of Your Money Geek.
Star Wars Biomes
Take a virtual vacation to some of the Star Wars films’ most iconic and beloved locations like Hoth, Tatooine, and Sorgan as this charming series whisks you off for fly-over tours of a Galaxy far, far away.
Star Wars Vehicle Flythroughs
Get up-close and personal with two of the Star Wars films most iconic and beloved ships as this charming content leads viewers on an exploration of the memorable interiors and exteriors of the Millennium Falcon and an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Sorgan, that little village that Mando spent 20 minutes in in Season 1 of The Mandalorian? Erm, iconic and beloved, sure thing. I’m guessing if this takes off we could see more of this going forward. However I doubt Disney wants to spend millions virtually creating environments for something that no one watches. Perhaps Hoth, Tatooine and Sorgan had existing footage which made the process easier?
Being able to interact and go where you want on a Star Destroyer or the Falcon, sounds cool. However if it’s just a narration with shots from the movies then you might as well cancel this one now Lucasfilm. I get the feeling this was an idea cooked up within Lockdown and whilst they don’t quite need this the same any longer, maybe it worked? Maybe this crazy idea will actually take Disney+ in an innovative new direction? We can hope.
