A lot of Star Wars fans have a problem with the “Baby Yoda” nomenclature in The Mandalorian. Sure, mainstream fans don’t really care since the thing is cute as hell, but us weirdos just can’t overlook the inaccuracy, given that it’s likely not Yoda’s own child. Our own Kyle Malone tried to make Yoda Jr. a thing (though that wouldn’t have been any better, in my opinion), but the internet has spoken, leaving us with the name Baby Yoda. But fans aren’t the only ones who use the name.

Apparently, there was a certain someone who’d used the term Baby Yoda internally at one time or another…and that someone is Disney CEO Bob Iger, who also revealed the official name of the character in the script.

“We don’t refer to The Child the way the world is referring to [the character], which is ‘Baby Yoda.’ That’s a no-no. It’s not [Yoda]. I got chastised in my early emails to Jon Favreau for [calling him Baby Yoda]. It just seemed easy. I got my wrist slapped by [creator Jon Favreau] a few times [who said,] ‘It’s not Baby Yoda!’”

So…what is the thing’s real name? Well, surprise, surprise, he ain’t telling.

“I know its real name and it’s one of the reasons why I have extra security now, because I don’t wanna be given some kind of truth serum by someone.”

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see when and if we actually learn the name of one Babyus Yodaus. Let’s just hope that once we do discover his name that we’re able to adjust the way we talk about the guy. I mean, we probably don’t, but it doesn’t hurt to dream.
