It is crazy to think that it has been four years since Star Wars: Rogue One came out in theaters and two years since Disney announced the Cassian Andor series would be coming to Disney+. While the show has had its issues during preproduction it seems that shooting will be happening in the immediate future.
According to the Film and Television Industry Alliance production will begin on November 4th and the title for the series is just Star Wars: Andor. This is a great sign of the project moving forward since it will be the only Star Wars Disney+ series that will be filming on a traditional set. With Covid-19 protocols put in place most studio productions have moved to more advanced sets with less workers needed. We know that the Star Wars: Andor series will be filming at Pinewood Studios in England which is a traditional setting.
Also remember we reported a couple weeks ago that Tony Gilroy had to step down as director because he had to make a quick decision to leave his home in New York and travel to London for filming. Gilroy decided against leaving and Toby Haynes will step into the role of director for at least the first couple episodes.
