Star Wars: Daisy Ridley Wants Boyega Back – Skeleton Crew Cast On Merch – Mangold Movie Potential Title

According to the latest Barside Buzz, Jonathan Tropper (The Adam Project) is to write Shawn Levy's Star Wars movie.

A few pieces of Star Wars news to cover as Daisy Ridley says she wants John Boyega back, Skeleton Crew cast seen on merch plus a potential title for the James Mangold movie. Let’s start with Daisy Ridley.

As we know the next Star Wars movie is The Mandalorian and Grogu. However, after that looks set to be the Daisy Ridley led ‘New Jedi Order’ movie from director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. That movie is currently on a rewrite from scribe Stephen Knight. The Barside Buzz is that Lucasfilm also want John Boyega to return as Finn. Which does make sense given the fact he is Force sensitive and was likely trained by Rey post-TROS. However, we’ve also heard Boyega is yet to be convinced. When last we heard the were developing two versions of the script, one with and one without Boyega.

Now Ridley when speaking with THR was asked about whether she would like Boyega to return also for the next movie?

‘Asked if her co-star John Boyega will also be joining her in the new film she played coy; does she want him to be a part of it? “Absolutely, of course,” Ridley said of the two being back together. “It feels like we should, yeah.”’

It will feel a bit weird if Finn is absent, and it could lead to him getting his own movie if he were to return. So let’s hope he does.

Skeleton Crew

Now onto Skeleton Crew and we are our first glimpse of the cast from some accompanying merch. Check out the listing in this link for a Skeleton Crew Ingot. Sadly, the image, previously on show has now been embargoed. But of course, it was out, and thus the internet has it.

Does absolutley nothing to make me excited for this show. Skeleton Crew is either going to be unexpectedly decent or as bad as I expected. Let’s find out which this Christmas.

Now onto another movie.

Potential Title For Mangold’s Star Wars Movie

We may have a possible title, or working title for James Mangold’s movies he’s developing. What we know so far about this movie is that it is set 25k years prior to the stories we know. The era is being called the ‘Dawn of the Jedi’ era and that’s exactly where the movie will go.

Well, in SFX Magazine – June 2024 issue. Simon Emanuel, who was a producer on Mangold’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, refers to Mangolds upcoming movie as ‘Jedi Prime‘. Feel free to check the mag for yourself, but that’s what he calls it. Now, this might not mean it is the title, in fact, it could be simply a draft title, or a working title that Mangold is using and told Emanuel about?

Still, Jedi Prime sounds like a good name for what we know about this film, and it could spawn more stories set in the same era. Ergo, I’d like a title that reads like so. Star Wars: Dawn Of The Jedi – Jedi Prime. As in, all the films from this era being given the same Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi. It just works for Star Wars despite being a mouthful and after a second movie comes out, people will only ever refer to them by their actual titles anyway.

Equally, I’d Like Star Wars: New Jedi OrderMovie Title to be the way they structure the Rey movie’s title also. It’s start two new story paths.

So what do you think of this news as Daisy Ridley says she wants John Boyega back? What about the Skeleton Crew cast seen on merch, or the potential title for the James Mangold movie? Thoughts below as always
