Star Wars: Episode 9 – Greg Grunberg Unofficially Confirms His ‘Snap’ Wexley Character Will Return

Actor Greg Grunberg has more or less confirmed his return as the Resistance pilot “Snap” Wexley. In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Grunberg was asked about the potential for him to return to the franchise, and in answering, he scratched at his beard, which was a part of the character’s look in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“You know what — we’d better or else my wife is going to kill me for growing a beard. I can’t officially say anything, but this is getting itchy, and I’m getting itchy to go over there and do it.”

That’s as close as we will get without actual confirmation from Disney. While he didn’t have a huge role in The Force Awakens and he was part of the team that took down Starkiller Base, and is a familiar face to the current trilogy. Will he play a larger role in the upcoming Episode 9? Or will this be another instance of Grunberg simply making appearances in Abrams’ films, as he has been called a human Easter Egg, as well as J.J. Abrams’ good luck charm?

While he is now part of the Star Wars franchise, to me, Grunberg will always and forever be the pilot of Oceanic flight 815 that was eaten by the Smoke Monster on LOST.

Star Wars: Episode 9 hits theaters December 20, 2019.
