Star Wars: How Alden Ehrenreich Celebrate His Being Cast As Han Solo

Many of us can only dream of actually being hired to help out with some of our favorite franchises. I’m sure many of you would love to somehow get involved in the world of Star Wars, and given the opportunity, you’d likely call everyone in your extended family to let them just how much of a badass you are.

Sadly, that isn’t necessarily the case for most people, including actors. At the end of the day, secrecy is key, and they often can’t say a damn thing until months later, when it’s announced to the public. Such was the case for Alden Ehrenreich, who recently took on the role of Han Solo in the recently-released Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Speaking on the Director and Cast Roundtable special feature for the Blu-ray, Ehrenreich revealed the first thing he did when he got the call he’d be donning the vest.

“I called my family, I told them, but like, all my friends, I couldn’t tell anybody really and it wasn’t even going to be announced for three months. And so I didn’t know what to do, but I felt I should do something, so, I like went to the beach, by myself, and walked around. And there was the pier there so I went to the pier and I was like ‘I guess I’ll ride a ride.’ So I just rode a roller coaster by myself.”

Honestly, it doesn’t sound like a bad way to handle it. As a painfully introverted person, that sounds like the perfect celebration. Grab an ice cream, ride a ride, and grab a beer while binging the original trilogy. Good lord, how did I ever get married?
