Star Wars: Ivanna Sakhno Teases Shin And Her Backstory In Ahsoka

Here is my Ahsoka Episode 3 review, it's a bit cartoony, but the right way and I had fun watching this one.

Some Star Wars news as actress Ivanna Sakhno opens up and teases her Shin character and her backstory within the upcoming Ahsoka series. Sakhno makes her Star Wars debut in Ahsoka playing a mysterious Force wielder named Shin. For now we think Shin is the apprentice of Baylon, played by Ray Stevenson who sadly passed away recently.

Speaking with EW Sakhno isn’t revealing any details that could be spoilers. However she does tease a little about the character and that her backstory will be intriguing.

“Shin is quite an intense and ambitious Force-wielder,” teases Sakhno. “She is very skilled in lightsaber combat. She is a new character, so I don’t want to give away too much of who Shin is, as I would love the audience to be able to discover her.”

“I hope that despite her darkness of a character, we’re able to also expand our understanding of that darkness within someone and the reason behind it. I love her, I really care so much about her, and I feel like it’s my job to take care of her and protect her.”

The rest of the interview is worth checking out. It was conducted with Ray Stevenson before his passing. Therefore, it’s rather sad to read of Sakhno and Stevenson joking around about their time on the show. Feel free to check the source article in the link above.

On The Cantina, which we have not been recording as much due to lack of any real news, Kyle and I speculated about what role Shin could have going forward. If Filoni is adapting parts of the Heir to the Empire book, as seems the case, where does Shin fit in. Kyle and I wondered whether Shin could be the Mara Jade to Ezra’s Luke Skywalker in this story?

That’s purely speculation though and it is entirely possible there is no Mara surrogate in Filoni’s story. I’m always interested to see why a character is the way they are. Therefore Sakhno teasing we will find out more about Shin’s darkness is a good thing. Of course, it  all depends on the script and the performances from here on out.

What do you think of the Star Wars news as Ivanna Sakhno teases Shin and her backstory in Ahsoka? Thoughts below as always.
