Star Wars: Rumors About Colin Trevorrow’s Version Of Episode 9 Vehemently Denied By The Director

Well, we all know that at some point a very different version of Star Wars: Episode 9 was in play, and at the time helmed by Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow.

There are a few things we know already, the red troopers were Trevorrow’s idea, but for different reasons and there was no Palpatine in Trevorrow’s version either, that’s from the director’s own lips. You can check those details in the related section below, but today’s more recent news comes from a rumor begun by scoop site MSW, they have had a decent hit rate for spoilers so far with The Rise of Skywalker, though, I’d argue that the other two sources for the leaks are a little more detailed.

Anyway, MSW claim to know several details from the scrapped Colin Trevorrow version of Episode 9, and Colin Trevorrow himself has quickly dismissed these on social media, but before we get to that let’s take a look at what was claimed.

Rey’s Parentage – They claim that Rey’s mum was a maid of Han Solo and Leia Organa and looked after young Ben Solo and that he and Rey grew up together. This would have been revealed in the movie and Ben would have been aware all along, whereas Rey would still have no knowledge of Ben.

The Finale – They say that the finale was to take place in the Solo family home and here Ben Solo would redeem himself and stop Rey from turning to the Dark Side of the Force

Similarities – We know that the red troopers were Trevorrow’s idea and the outlet claims that Kylo Ren would have been chasing Rey throughout the Galaxy to get her to turn to the Dark Side. Lando did return in Trevorrow’s version but Emperor Palpatine did not. Leia died in the movie, but got the opportunity to wield a lightsaber before doing so?

There is a bit more detail in there if you want to go and check, but considering Trevorrow’s response, I am not sure it’s worth doing so. Here is the response Trevorrow posted on social media after reading the article.

Personally, I think he should have just responded with the following image:

Now, I wouldn’t expect Trevorrow to pitch up and say “Ah, you got me guys, well done.” However, he does seem to vehemently deny these claims. You’d have to guess that the sources might be a little off with this one, but who can say for sure? Either way, knowing what I know about The Rise of Skywalker and comparing it to this version, well, I don’t think it would have been better, let’s just put it that way.

Clearly I don’t buy it, but what about you, do you believe the report, or Trevorrow himself? Leave them in the usual place below folks.
