Some Star Wars news as both Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White both made comments on The Mandalorian and Grogu filming recently. The next Star Wars movie will be with us May, 2026 and from what we can tell seems to be a retooled movie version of what would have been The Mandalorian Season 4.
Weaver’s character has been seen in the trailer and it seems she plays a military officer in the New Republic. Rumors say here character is called Colonel Bishop, but that’s yet to be made official.
However, perhaps we should not expect a lot of screen time for Weaver’s character? Speaking with Josh Horowitz, Weaver explained she was,
“only on set for a few days” and “surrounded by all sorts of creatures.”
Makes sense to show Weaver in the trailer, but it does seem like it’s only a few scenes at most.

One actor that will be in a few more scenes probably, if only his voice, is Jeremy Allen White, who is playing the voice of Rotta the Hutt. Yes, the same ‘Stinky’ from that first, awful The Clone Wars movie.
Speaking with GMA, White explained the process of recording he went through for the film.
“I came in to do the voice. They hadn’t filmed the movie yet. Then they made the movie, I came and did more. I’ll probably have to do a little bit more. I spoke to Pedro [Pascal] the other day, and I think he was doing some more work, and seeing more of the film.”
White also went into how he got this role in the first place.
“I met Jon Favreau, and I’ve been such a huge fan of his for a long time. He said, ‘Would you like to come in and maybe talk to me about doing just a voice-over for Star Wars?’ I said, ‘I love Star Wars.’ I discovered kind of in the moment almost the weight of the kind of character I was voicing.”
