Star Wars: The Acolyte Adds Two New Cast Members To Its Roster

Some Star Wars news as it has been announced that the trailer for The Acolyte hits tomorrow.

According to the trades, Star Wars: The Acolyte adds two new cast members to its roster in Manny Jacinto and Charlie Barnett. This of course is in addition to the recent casting announcements for Jodie Turner-Smith and Lee Jung-jae. All four will join lead star Amandla Stenberg in the upcoming Star Wars series headed up by Leslye Headland.

Deadline reports that Manny Jacinto has joined the team.

Former The Good Place star Manny Jacinto has been cast opposite Amandla Stenberg and newly minted Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae in Disney+’s Star Wars series The Acolyte. In the series, which hails from Leslye Headland and Lucasfilm, Jacinto also joins previously announced Jodie Turner-Smith.

As the trade says, most viewers will be familiar with Jacinto if you have ever watched The Good Place, which was a pretty popular, and excellent series when on air.

Meanwhile, THR reports Charlie Barnett, who worked with showrunner Headland on her former show Russian Doll has also joined.

Charlie Barnett is going from time loops to Lightsabers.

The actor, best known for starring opposite Natasha Lyonne in buzzy Netflix series Russian Doll, is in final negotiations to join the cast of the latest Star Wars series, The Acolyte.

Okay, final talks means it could still fall trough, however I find that very rare at this point of negotiations.

Plot details on The Acolyte are scarce, but we do know a little. For a start this tale is set over 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace. Likely before the time of Darth Sidious, aka Sheev (Frank to the fans) Palpatine. The show will focus on a new character played by Stenberg who is rumored to be rejected from the Jedi as she is too old. Instead they end up becoming a Sith Acolyte. A Sith Lord code-named Paul is rumored to be the apprentice and not the master behind the scenes.

What do you think as Star Wars: The Acolyte adds two new cast members in Manny Jacinto and Charlie Barnett? As always, leave any thoughts below.
