Disney has always had the whole synergy thing down. Even way back in the ‘90s on Disney Channel, they didn’t have standard commercials — they pretty much had ads advertising their original programming or films headed into theaters. Now, it looks like things have gone full circle with their new streaming service Disney+, which is currently airing the first live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
As of right now, they have released four episodes of the eight-episode series, and little by little, they have been drip-feeding us details about the upcoming episodes, and Disney+ recently sent us a quick little blurb about Episode 7 — which is set to feature Giancarlo Esposito — and in the blurb, there’s a little surprise.

“An old rival extends an invitation for The Mandalorian to make peace. This episode will include an exclusive sneak peek at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, in theatres everywhere on December 20.”
This episode releases on Disney+ on December 18 — a full two days earlier than the usual Friday release. This is presumably to help hype up Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which is the final entry in the Skywalker Saga. While the film technically releases on the 20th, most of us will actually be seeing it on Thursday, the 19th, so if you don’t have Disney+ and one day is super important to you to get a mild flavor of the film, then you may wanna sign up.
