This is one of those rare moments where my fandom with Star Wars is set to collide my fandom with manga from across the Pacific.
In a new tweet from Twitter user Yonkou Productions shared a picture from the Japanese serial magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. In it, it reveals the results of a poll, but also (more importantly) states that the manga series My Hero Academia will have a “collaboration poster” with Star Wars.

Sadly, this poster won’t be ready in the next couple weeks, and will instead premiere in a February issue. So don’t expect it to hold you over while you’re waiting for Star Wars: The Last Jedi to hit theaters. Regardless, it’s still a cool idea to see the world of Star Wars interact with the world created by manga author Kohei Horikoshi.

For those unfamiliar, My Hero Academia is a comedy adventure series that follows a boy (Midoriya) born without superpowers (or “quirks” as they’re called). Yet despite that, he has the dream of becoming a superhero in the vein of his childhood idol, All Might. A series of circumstances puts him in a position where All Might agrees to share his abilities with the young kid, and he enrolls him into a high school, where he’ll learn all he needs to be a hero.
The manga series has since been adapted into an anime series, with its second season only wrapping up a couple months back.
It’s not exactly the most predictable move for My Hero Academia to riff off Star Wars, but we’re interested to see what it brings.
