July 4th will see the debut of Stranger Things Season 3 on Netflix, so check out the final trailer above to see where things are going to go for our Hawkins heroes.
From the narrative we are given in the trailer, it seems like the mind flayer rather than being trapped in the Upside Down, was actually trapped here when Eleven sealed the gateway shut in Season 2. The guys and gals look all set for a roaring summer of hormones, sunshine and shopping malls until clearly the monsters return in force.
It’s also worth noting that based on the way the trailer is cut, it looks like it might confirm a fan theory about this season. The theory was that the Mind Flayer would use Billy as a new host after being forced away from Will Byers last season. In the trailer just as Will says it may be looking for another host we then cut to a shot of Billy looking at something and then, later on, we see what looks like black tendrils in his eyes. I’d say it’s a good guess from fans on this one.

Other than that, it’s hard to make any kind of proper predictions because we are talking about an eight-hour show across a couple minutes of trailers. One thing I did notice was a shot of a baby and I do wonder if that might well be a baby of Mrs Byers and Chief Hopper? Maybe that’s just me reading too much into one simple shot I guess?
I am personally really excited for Season 3 of Stranger Things, I know many people felt Season 2 was not quite on the same level as Season 1, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what’s in store for season 3. Far as we know there should be a fourth and final season of the show next year, but, I guess we shall see how Season 3 shakes out first.
