Do you love the American Dream? Well, there are fewer things more American than a mall in the 1980s. They are the place where a good American’s hard-earned money can be pumped back into the economy and where teenagers can go and hang out. It’s truly the staple of a very specific era in time…so of course, Stranger Things would take full advantage of it!
In a new video released from Netflix, they tease The Starcourt Mall, a new attraction heading to Hawkins in the summer of 1985. In the video, we get a nice retro look at shops like The Gap, Waldenbooks, Sam Goody, and Claire’s. Little do most of those shops know that they will be rendered pretty much useless within the next few decades.

Also of note is Steve. Looks like he has a job at the Scoops Ahoy ice cream shop. This looks like it could very well solidify that the mall could play a big role as a location in the next season, and that Steve could play a part in it due to his employment there. Then again, it could also just be a funny commercial.
