With the show’s return just around the corner, a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of CBS’s hit show Supergirl has emerged via the Instagram account of the show’s star, actress Melissa Benoist. The image shows Benoist in full Supergirl garb working in front of a green screen. The photo bears the caption of “when capes are non-aerodynamic” and shows Benoist with an unusual expression on her face.

The show’s Season 2 finale ended with a cliffhanger leaving one popular character’s fate undetermined, and Supergirl herself likely in a very focused state. Supergirl started airing on CBS in 2015 and then moved to the CW Network after its freshmen season to better connect with her fellow DC superheroes who also reside on the network.
Though the show experienced a significant ratings drop in the network move, it was still renewed for a third season. The CW has become known as the DC network featuring shows such as Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The show tells the story of another Krptonian superhero, Kara-El, better known as Supergirl, who is a cousin to Superman.
Supergirl returns to the CW for its third season October 9.
