Slowly but surely, Supergirl is turning into a Superman show. That may sound like an exaggeration, but with the frequent inclusion of Superman, the appearance of many other regular or Superman-adjunct characters, it’s clear The CW is getting more and more license to include some bigger names to help attract new viewers and keep old ones. Now, you can add another big character to the growing list.

The character is none other than Superman’s arch nemesis, Lex Luthor. Good ol’ baldy will be making his first appearance at some point in Season 4, which is set to premiere this coming Sunday at 8/7c PM. Here is what executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller had to say about the announcement in a joint statement.

“We’re beyond excited to introduce iconic villain, Lex Luthor, to Supergirl and to weave him into our story this season. We’ve talked about having Lex on the show since its inception and we’re excited to have him finally arrive. We can’t wait for him to shake things up in National City and watch him go toe to toe with not only Supergirl, but his sister Lena Luthor.”

Set to play the megalomaniac is none other than Jesse Eisenberg — no, no, no, I’m kidding. Jesse Eisenberg will (likely) not come anywhere near this interpretation of the character. Sadly, we don’t know who will be playing Lex, but it’s only a matter of time, as The CW and Warner Bros. TV have stated that casting will begin shortly.
