Might We See Roseanne In A Flashback On The Conners?

Recently, ABC expressed minor potential regret over the firing of Roseanne Barr. Barr was fired due to offensive tweets aimed toward Valerie Jarrett, a former senior advisor to President Obama. While the show killed off Roseanne in a less than flattering way, is it possible she could cameo in a flashback? Michael Fishman, who has played D.J. Conner since the original show began back in the late 80s spoke at the PaleyFest New York, and from what he had to say, the door for a Roseanne return is still open on the Roseanne spin-off series The Conners, in spite of her getting killed off.

“You know, at the current time, we haven’t really discussed that,” Fishman said. “But that’s one of those things, I would say, never say never. I’m a big believer in second chances and forgiveness. I think that’s a really big thing, and I think this country is kind of built on that. People go through a lot of things, people make mistakes, everybody makes mistakes. The most successful people in our world aren’t the ones who don’t make mistakes, but the ones who learn the most from them.”

As time goes on, a cameo by Roseanne becomes more and more likely, even Louis C.K. has returned to comedy and his faux pas wasn’t over social media, it was in-person.

Personally, I don’t think Roseanne should have been fired in the first place. Sure, what she did was wrong, but a better solution would have been to have her apologize and I don’t know, make her donate a large sum of money to a charity of Valerie Jarett’s choice. People shouldn’t lose their livelihoods over something they said. However, that is the flavor of the day as we have seen others go down for their use of social media, including writer/director James Gunn, and most recently, comic book writer, Chuck Wendig.
