Some DCU related Barside Buzz mixed with legit news, Superman shooting Fortress Of Solitude scenes, Perry White cast, plus Peacemaker Season 2 And Waller to film this year. However, let’s start with the legit news from THR that Wendell Pierce has been cast as Superman‘s Perry White. This last piece of major role casting news for Superman dropped over the weekend.
‘Wendell Pierce, perhaps best known for his work as a detective on HBO’s seminal crime series The Wire, has been cast as the iconic editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet in James Gunn’s Superman.’
I’ve so far liked all the casting for Superman so far. Pierce just gives off that Perry White vibe to me. Therefore, again I’m happy. Of course, the real test is how the actors fair in the movie? We fans will have a while to wait for that.

Now for the rumors and the first one from Daniel RPK on his Patreon is that Superman has been filming scenes in Norway for Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. This one seems to check out, if you look at the first image we have from the movie above, then it’s covered in snow. I thought at the time Gunn was hinting to us this was taken in the Fortress of Solitude. However, of course we cannot say this for certain, and you should take all rumors with a pinch of salt.
For me though, the Fortress is an iconic part of Superman’s mythology, up there with Batman’s Bat Cave. Therefore, if it is making a return, then I’m pleased about that.

Lastly we have a non-Superman rumor from RPK. He says he has heard that both Peacemaker Season 2 and Waller are set to begin filming in 2024. I’m guessing Peacemaker would be later as Gunn might want to direct that and he’s a bit busy. However, My guess is that Gunn will defer directing duties for Peacemaker Season 2, or at least he won’t direct every episode. I could be wrong though, hence the guess.
For now there’s not much to say about Waller. We have no real direction of where that show is going? Though, we may find out more once casting kicks off?
