According to a recent report Superman: Legacy is to film in March 2024, and we also have a new brief synopsis. The information comes initially from Production List who are not always reliable. However, it was also backed up by Collider from their own sources. Honestly this isn’t in any way surprising. We had hints and rumors that March would not be far off when cameras began rolling. Collider does not have a specific date but they say mid-March is what they have heard.
We don’t know how long the production is scheduled for, but the movie releases July 11th, 2025. As said above we also have a new brief synopsis of the movie. Again, I’ll point out there is nothing new hear we have not already heard.
“Superman, a cub reporter in Metropolis, embarks on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.”
Yep, tells us nothing new. Superman: Legacy stars David Corsenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Clark Kent and Lois Lane. They will be pitted against Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor as well as a number of existing DC heroes, such Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner.

There is a lot of pressure on this movie. Superman: Legacy is the first film from the rebooted DCU under the guidance of studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. Therefore if Superman: Legacy fails to resonate with audiences it does beg the question of what happens to this new DCU? Gunn is a great filmmaker in my opinion. Therefore I am confident he will shape an interesting Universe, and give us a good Superman movie. I certainly hope so anyway.
I don’t think we can really judge the DCU though until more movies and shows start to be released. However, the fan base will have decided if it’s dead, or the best thing ever, by the time they finish watching Legacy. No pressure James.
What do you think of the news Superman: Legacy is to film in March 2024? any thoughts on the new brief synopsis? Thoughts below as always.
