Superman: Red Son Clip Shows Lex Luthor and Lois Lane Relationship

Superman: Red Son

Superman: Red Son featuring Lex Luthor (Diedrich Bader) and Lois Lane (Amy Acker)Superman: Red Son entered into the “what if” realm.

Based on the series from Elseworlds comics, Warner Brothers and DC featured the next installment of DC Universe Movies with Superman: Red Son.

The premise of this feature-length animated film is “what if” the spaceship bearing the last survivor of Krypton crash lands—not in rural Kansas, but in Stalinist Russia. Can this Cold War-era Earth survive the coming of a Soviet Superman?

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment will release the film as a digital format starting February 25 and then with 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack on March 17.

A new DC Showcase animated short, Phantom Stranger, is attached to the feature film.

The voice cast includes Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter series) as alternate Superman, Diedrich Bader (American Housewife) as Lex Luthor, Amy Acker (Angel) as Lois Lane, Vanessa Marshall (Star Wars Rebels) as Wonder Woman, and Phil Morris (Doom Patrol) as James Olsen. Additional voices provided by Paul Williams (Phantom of the Paradise), Roger Craig Smith (Batman: Arkham Origins), Sasha Roiz (Grimm), Phil LaMarr (Futurama), Jim Meskimen (Parks and Recreation), Travis Willingham (Critical Role), William Salyers (Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders), and Winter Ave Zoli (Sons of Anarchy).

Sam Liu (Reign of the Supermen) directed the animated film from a script written by J.M. DeMatteis (Batman: Bad Blood, Constantine: City of Demons).

This animated film will be the second adaptation from Elseworlds following last year’s release of Batman: Gotham By Gaslight.

The studio released a new clip from the film featuring Lex Luthor (Bader) and Lois Lane (Acker) with an intimate relationship in this alternate universe.
