After the finale of Supernatural‘s 12th season, the Winchester boys were left without their mother, their best friend, and also lost their nemesis/occasional friend, Crowley.
The boys have suffered losses before, but with their mother being stuck in the alternate world, and Castiel being killed by Lucifer, fans have wondered what kind of mental state the brothers will be in for Season 13. Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester on the show recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and gave insight into what the season holds for Dean:
“He’s essentially grieving by burying himself in work. He’s still going to fight the fight, but there’s less passion there because of the loss that he’s dealing with.”

The last thing the monsters of the Supernatural universe want is an unhinged Dean Winchester. Along with the boys dealing the emotional issues of last season’s losses, they also have the son of the devil to worry about, who is growing up fast and they must stop before its too late. I am with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, bring back John Winchester, the brothers could use him now more than ever.
Supernatural’s legendary run continues Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
