United we stand. Divided we fall.
It appears that the country is divided with everything happening in the news and social media. However, there’s still a glimmer of hope that we can find a common ground to unite once again.
The documentary The Reunited States, the film explores the possibilities of uniting this divided nation. The film is beautifully crafted by Ben Rekhi, who directed projects such as Futurestates, Waterborne, and The Hidden Vote.
The film is executive produced by political commentators Van Jones and Meghan McCain from opposite ends of the political aisles.
Here’s the official synopsis:
At a time when America is ripping apart at the seams, The Reunited States is a powerful and urgent documentary that follows the unsung heroes on the difficult journey of bridging our political and racial divides. Susan Bro, who lost her daughter when a car drove through a crowd of counter-protestors in Charlottesville, and David and Erin Leaverton, a Republican couple who travel to all fifty states in an RV to find out what divides us, are just a few of the characters profiled in the film. Each of these bridge-builders has realized that while our divides run deeper than they ever could have imagined, so does the love and hope to bring our country back together.
