Terminator: Dark Fate Runtime Revealed

Terminator: Dark Fate is almost upon us as its release on November 1st in the US, though a week earlier than that over where I am in the UK. The movie as we know takes the point of view that any sequels to the Terminator franchise that happened post-Terminator 2: Judgment Day just didn’t happen, or happened in some alternate timeline.

Today we have some confirmation of the runtime of the new movie from the good old BBFC, who have listed the runtime along with a UK rating of 15, which I understand you maybe don’t have in the States, though I’m unsure of that? The runtime will be two hours and eight minutes, or 2:08:03 if you want to be precise.

So how does that compare to previous Terminator movies? The Terminator was 1:47, Terminator 2: Judgment Day was 2:17, Terminator 3 was 1:49, Terminator: Salvation was 1:55, and Terminator: Genisys was 2:06 of utter twaddle.

It does make Terminator: Dark Fate the longest runtime of any Terminator film since Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Though the runtime offers no indication of quality, I do have a feeling that this movie may be a lot better than the last three efforts. Saying that, I am still not sure if the world has just moved on from Terminator now? Make enough bad films, and audiences no longer care, it devalues the franchise. Just look at Alien, Predator or maybe even arguably Star Wars to see how a franchises stock can fall.
