Yesterday, I reported on the leaked footage (which was taken down) and description for a supposed Harry Potter RPG. As indicated in said description, the game would be an open-world RPG set in the 1800s that followed your character, who enters Hogwarts as a fifth-year-student. Like many RPGs, this game supposedly would give you options as to the types of wizard you can be, giving an unprecedented amount of freedom in a Harry Potter game.
But, as with everything, I had a healthy amount of skepticism. Leaks aren’t always the real deal, and even though the game footage was taken down by Warner Bros., it was no guarantee that it was legit (though that certainly is something in its favor). Well, now we have another update in its favor.
BBC entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba took to Twitter to share a few details:
“Am told this is from a yet to be announced RPG currently titled Harry Potter Magic Awakened, although other titles including Magic Forever are also in the mix. Other Potter games are also thought to be on the way.”
Of course, this is just one rumor from one reporter, but when added to Warner Bros. pulling down the footage, it seems like a confirmation is inevitable.
